Come to Ogunquit, ‘A beautiful place by the sea’, and visit our gallery located in the center of picturesque Perkins Cove.

Our new 2008 season begins in May. We’ll be open weekends initially and then daily beginning May 23rd (Memorial Day Weekend). Our Opening Season Gala Event takes place on Saturday evening May 24th. Many new works will be presented at this festive unveiling! We hope you can join us!

Ogunquit, Maine has a long history as a haven for
artists. In the early 1900's, Perkins Cove was a thriving
art colony with renowned artist, Charles Woodbury, as
its driving force. Today, a century later, that artistic
heritage can still be felt as you stroll through the town
or quietly walk Ogunquit's beautiful white sandy beaches.

Beth's creative romance with the Maine Coast began
at the age of twelve when she spent many hours at Perkins Cove observing artists working outside their studios. She was mesmerized by the beauty and powerful energy in their work. Unbeknownst to her, those special moments would impact her future career. Today, Beth's paintings reflect the influence of those artists as well as Ogunquit's Charles Woodbury and Maine's beloved Winslow Homer. Her work is a contemporary vision in the plein air tradition.

Offering plein air painting workshops during the month of June (her 13th anniversary in 2008!), and the familiar sight of Beth painting in the open air throughout a five-month season, ensure her commitment that Ogunquit's plien air tradition continues to thrive.

The Beth Ellis Cove Gallery features Beth’s plein air oil paintings of New England with special emphasis on Ogunquit and the inspiring scenes of Coastal Maine. The gallery showcases her most recent work throughout the season. Along with Beth's oils, selected limited edition reproductions and matted 8x10 prints are available for purchase.

The gallery also represents the work of four other talented artists. The beautiful detailed hand-colored etchings of Melissa Meredith, atractive bronze sculpture of Danielle Langford, the popular wooden bowls by Rick Mier and the finely crafted furniture of Marshall Thompson.

Painters and collectors alike enjoy the rich experience of a visit to this delightful gallery and the varied selection of art on display.

The Beth Ellis Cove Gallery is located in the center of Perkins Cove,
across from the drawbridge, above Dock Square Clothiers.

In early July, she unveils her popular Small Works exhibit. These ‘small gems in oil' are enthusiastically received by residents and tourists alike. They are a wonderful way to begin or expand a collection of Beth’s paintings.
